Closet Care

No matter how strange it may sound, but any furniture needs care, be it a chest of drawers, bookshelves or a sofa. Modern interior items are made of high quality materials, but despite this, they need to be taken care of. The wardrobe has gained popularity due to its spaciousness, small size and decorative effect. In order for such furniture to last longer, you need to know how to care for the wardrobe.

Basic rules for the care of wardrobes

By its design, the sliding wardrobe is reliable and wear-resistant. With proper maintenance, it will last for decades. Caring for sliding wardrobes includes several manipulations:

  • Caring for the sliding wardrobe system;
  • Hull care;
  • Mirror care;
  • Caring for internal content;
  • Caring for lighting elements.

Sliding System Care

The sliding wardrobe differs from ordinary furniture in its sliding door system. This method provides easy access to the contents of the structure. The sliding system requires careful and careful handling, as it is considered the most vulnerable. Sudden movements when opening or closing the cabinet can lead to premature wear. Also, inaccurate use leads to loss of tightness or loosening of the door system. The lower rail of the sliding mechanism must be cleaned in a timely manner of dust, debris and other foreign bodies that often accumulate in this particular place. It is best to use a brush or vacuum cleaner.

Body care

In order to preserve the decorative properties of the wardrobe, its surface must be treated with special cleaning agents. It is necessary to make it a rule to remove greasy or dirty stains as soon as they appear. Do not leave them until the next general cleaning or until the weekend, as grease and dirt can be absorbed, after which they cannot be removed. The choice of care product should be taken with great attention, since an incorrectly selected product can lead to damage to the top layer of furniture. If there are stains of dirt or grease on the cabinet, it is best to clean its surface with a mild soapy solution, then wipe it with a dry cloth. To make the furniture body shine, you can use special polishing products.

Mirror care

The doors of wardrobes are often finished with large mirrors, which need to be properly looked after. So that over time the mirror does not darken, its surface must be constantly treated with special detergents designed specifically for them. In addition to their cleansing properties, they also have antistatic properties, i.e. prevent the accumulation of dust particles on the surface. Window cleaners are not suitable in this case, as they can cause stains or undesirable haze. It is best to clean the mirror in three steps:

  • Wash the mirror surface with a soapy solution based on any shampoo or dishwashing detergent. It is best to use a soft cloth or sponge for this. Scouring powders, rough bristly sponges should not be used when cleaning a mirror surface, as they can leave scratches.
  • The detergent is washed off with ordinary running water using a special microfiber cloth, which must be rinsed several times.
  • Apply a mirror cleaner to the surface, carefully wipe it to a shine with a dry, clean cloth or newspaper in a circular motion.

Care of internal content

Shelves and hangers in the closet should be regularly cleaned of dust. In order for the furniture to serve for a long time, it is important to monitor the load on the shelves and hangers, it is best to distribute it evenly. Often air stagnates in cabinets, so keep the doors open from time to time. To always have a pleasant aroma in the closet, you can put open toilet soap or flavored sachets (sachets) on the shelves.

Care of lighting elements

If the wardrobe is equipped with lighting elements, they also need to be regularly maintained. Usually it is enough just to wipe them from dust. Conventional incandescent lamps should not be used for lighting purposes, as they are unsafe. If they break unexpectedly, you will have to sort out and rinse all things where glass fragments can get. LED spotlights are considered the safest and most energy-intensive. They consume very little electricity, practically do not break.

Conclusion

Caring for the wardrobe is not particularly difficult. In addition to the above manipulations, it must be remembered that the ideal conditions for such furniture are air temperatures from 10 to 25 degrees and humidity from 60 to 70%. It is not recommended to install such furniture near heating appliances.

Careful attitude to the wardrobe will extend its service life for several decades.
