Closet in the niche of the room

A wardrobe as a piece of furniture is indispensable in any apartment or house. The architecture of some buildings is arranged in such a way that a niche is formed that can be used to install built-in furniture. This solution will be functional and practical, suitable for the interior of any style.

If there is no niche, but the installation of a built-in wardrobe is simply necessary, it can be built additionally. In this case, the dimensions must correspond to the dimensions of the furniture to be placed.

Features of installing a cabinet in a room niche

Before installing furniture in the planned place, it is important to understand a number of distinctive features of such a design:

  • it is preferable to make the cabinet built-in, but it will not be possible to rearrange or move it later;
  • you can use ready-made furniture that is suitable in size, but the selection should be especially careful, extra gaps on the sides and in height will not add aesthetics;
  • The niche must have the correct geometry, or the installation of the cabinet will be difficult.

You can save money on mounting furniture walls by using a niche base. It can be made of absolutely any building material, but for the subsequent fastening of doors, a material is needed in which they will hold securely; wood is preferred in this case.

Design features

The niches can be placed vertically, horizontally, at an angle, under the stairs. In any case, this is the most convenient place for arranging a storage system. It is important to pay attention to the evenness of the surfaces, if necessary, make adjustments.

If leveling is done with drywall, then the cabinet version of the furniture is preferable so as not to worry about the allowable load. Furniture sizes, as a rule, turn out to be far from standard, so the appearance of the future cabinet in a niche depends on the correctness of the measurements taken.

The following options are distinguished by the type of construction:

  • frame, in which there is a bottom, side and rear panels, representing a solid module with the necessary filling. Such a cabinet is stable; made to order according to strictly specified dimensions. The disadvantage is such a design that there are no gaps in which dust will accumulate, and this can be achieved extremely rarely;
  • falsh-frame, the filling in which is mounted directly on the walls. There is no need to overpay for extra panels, all facades will be tight. In such a design, every square centimeter will be used for its intended purpose. For repairs, you can simply replace elements, facades or fittings.

Inner padding

Even a closet in a small niche requires careful planning of placement inside. In this case, everything depends on the purpose of the structure. The wardrobe should have an appropriate depth, which is from 40 to 100 cm. With a greater depth, you should think about arranging the space like a dressing room.

Depending on what things will be stored in the built-in wardrobe, the following types of filling are used:

  • rods; used for hanging clothes. Shoulder-height fastening is considered comfortable. If it is supposed to place long dresses, then fastening in the upper part is possible;
  • shelves – the most common type, which is universal; Suitable for storing things, boxes, suitcases and other household items. They are located below, above, on the sides, in the center. The optimal depth is also 40-100 cm;
  • drawers are convenient for storing small items. If you use special organizers, this makes it much easier to organize items and find the right thing;
  • trouser and tie ties; can be both stationary and retractable;
  • storage baskets. Ideal for shoes and other things that are usually stored in the lower section of the closet.

Facades can be sliding, hinged, folding. They are selected in accordance with the general stylistic decision of the room.
