Features of care for unpolished furniture
Wooden products that are not covered with a layer of varnish look natural and aesthetically pleasing. The untreated surface easily absorbs dirt. In order not to allow moisture, grease, soot to penetrate deep into the structure of the tree, it is advisable to wipe the surface daily with a soft damp cloth, periodically use a vacuum cleaner, setting the nozzle with the softest bristles. Such care removes dust and dirt, preventing small cracks from being filled and giving the furniture an ugly dirty shade. If this happens, moisten a soft sponge with detergent, wipe the surface, immediately remove any remaining moisture with a dry cloth.
Natural wood furniture care product:
- melt a white wax candle in a water bath;
- add an equal amount of white spirit or gasoline, cool the composition;

Stains on wood kitchen cabinets are a common problem to get rid of:
- wipe with a mixture of alcohol and drying oil, taken equally.
- Effective and safe furniture cleaner – melamine sponge.
- Wipe the surface until the sponge absorbs the dirt, unfold, use a clean coat.
Polish furniture cleaners
Polished furniture needs special care. Do not use abrasive powders for cleaning, so as not to leave scratches. To give shine, the surface of a wooden tabletop is coated with compounds containing varnish and resin. Do not allow the furniture to be in direct sunlight, in a damp room. For care, you will need soft flannel or cotton napkins, cotton swabs, soft sponges.
Folk remedies for stain removal:
- Add two tablespoons of crushed white wax to a glass of dark beer, boil the composition. Cool, wipe furniture. Beer removes impurities, intensifies color, wax restores shine.
- An effective composition for cleaning a polished surface – detergent, antistatic agent and water, taken in equal amounts. Apply the mixture with a spray bottle, wipe with a dry cloth. Antistatic prevents dust from settling.
- All-purpose remedy – a mixture of olive oil and wine vinegar. At the same time, the surface is disinfected and gloss is restored.
- Wipe traces of a hot cup with Vaseline, polish after a few hours.
- To restore old furniture, you can use shoe cream, choosing the right color. The composition penetrates into cracks, fills them, protects the surface from moisture and dust. Subsequent polishing enhances the appearance.
To care for polished furniture, do not use abrasive powder, hard brushes, concentrated chemicals. In case of serious contamination, use chemical cleaners. To achieve good results and not damage the furniture, follow the instructions for use. Protect your hands with rubber gloves and your airways with a gauze bandage or restaurateur. Before use, test the product on an inconspicuous area.
